Binh Lieu – a “North West” within North East
In your itinerary for Vietnam, there are many travelers who cherish a whole trip to discover the North West with a great panache, a charming love-market, apple cider for reddish cheeks, plum and apricot flowers whiten a corner. Quang Ninh is seemingly known with the sea, the bays, and bustle markets at the border, besides there is also a quiet “North West”, where visitors can immerse in peaceful space of the mountains, with the warm rhythm of “hat then”, it is Binh Lieu.
270 km away from Hanoi, 108 km from Ha Long city, Binh Lieu is considered “A small Sapa of Quang Ninh”, like the North West of the country, where known as multi-ethnic area, there are various ethnic minorities in Binh Lieu such as Tay, Dao, San Chi, Hoa…Binh Lieu has temperate, cool climate, by the similarities from climate, landscape and culture, people call it a small Sapa.
Besides, Binh Lieu is also attracted with zigzaggy roads that look like a soft silk ribbon crossing mountains, small villages, the fields with green grass and yellow color of rice at harvest season. End of Oct and early Nov is the ideal time to visit Binh Lieu. The weather is great, the sunshine from late autumn is just enough to brighten the forest and yellow color of rice terrace. During the day, there will be cool winds, at night thin mist brings a little cold from forest breath as people suddenly feel the desire for a warm hand.

DAY 1: HANOI – BINH LIEU – About 270km, 4hours driving:
7.30am: After breakfast, our guide picks you up at the meeting point or at your hotel and departs for Binh Lieu – Quang Ninh.
11.30am: Have lunch in Binh Lieu town. Check in for a homestay in Hoang Mo (Hoang San homestay) or Song Mooc House (Song Mooc hamlet)
1.30pm: Visiting Song Mooc B hamlet
Visitors will learn about the daily life of the Dao people. The people here still retain a lot of beautiful customs and traditions, festivals such as the Festival of wind prevention – Le hoi kieng gio (April 4), the Cold Food Festival – Tet han thuc (March 3).
5pm: Back to homestay, relax, shower and have dinner.
Optional: Herbal bath local medicine.
DAY 2: Dong Van market (only available on Saturday) – Huc Dong hamlet – Khe Van waterfall – Binh Lieu
7.30am – 11.30am: Dong Van market – Huc Dong hamlet
12pm: Have lunch
1.30pm – 5pm: Visit Khe Van waterfall
Visit Khe Van waterfall. The waterfall is about 100m high, divided into 3 floors, bouncing downstream amidst the poetic natural scenery, rushing to form the typical sound of the mountains and forests. 3 cascades, each floor has its own shape and form. The waterfall is located in a dry forest surrounded by rocky mountains and primeval ecosystems.
17.30pm – 18.00pm: Khe Van waterfall – Binh Lieu (15km). Have dinner in Binh Liêu
You stay overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: BINH LIEU – NGAN PAT HAMLET – HANOI (Breakfast, lunch)
7.30am: Visit Na Lang suspension bridge: In the afternoon, visit and take photos at Na Lang suspension bridge – this is considered the most beautiful suspension bridge over the stream in Vietnam.
9am: Visit Ngan Pat hamlet: The main place is the terraced fields in Ngan Pat village
11.30am: Have lunch in Binh Lieu town
1.30pm: Back to Hanoi
In the evening, the group returns to Hanoi, ends the tour program of Binh Lieu, the tour guide temporarily bids farewell to you and hopes to see you again in the next trips!
