Viet Hai ancient fishing village is a small fishing village, located deep in Cat Ba National Park, in Cat Hai Island District, Hai Phong. Compared to other fishing villages, this place has a rather small area, only about 141 hectares with 70 households living. Viet Hai village is also known as “island within an island” because the village possesses a very rich ecosystem including mountains, forests, and seas inside. Viet Hai Village which has a charming landscape with limestone mountains, sea, forests and a rich and diverse ecosystem.
is a poetic place. The tourism model in Viet Hai is eco-tourism. Mainly foreign tourists come to enjoy and relax, so the space here is very quiet with the sports activities and cultural experiences.

DAY 1: HANOI – CAT BA – VIET HAI (L, D)
7.00am: Our guide will pick you up at the hotel and depart for Cat Ba – Hai Phong.
11.30am: Arrive in Cat Ba. You will have lunch in Cat Ba.
1pm: In the afternoon, our tour guide will lead you to the gate of Cat Ba National Park and start the walking journey to Viet Hai Village.
On the way through the forest you will be immersed in nature and will see some small mammals such as mink, squirrel, monkey, bird and many kinds of butterflies, especially if you are lucky you will see the white-headed langur – rare animals recorded in the world red book. After 2 hours of walking, passing 4 mountains (about 6 kilometers) you arrive at the first stop called Frog Pond (Ao Ech) where you will have a rest for 30 mins.
Then you continue the journey from Ao Ech to Viet Hai village (for about 3.5 km).
Check-in at a homestay and have dinner.
DAY 2: VIET HAI VILLAGE (B, L, D)
8.30am: You will start the trip with our guide by walking and climb the mountain to visit the old house
Then, climb the mountain for about 50 minutes to reach the top of Hai Quan where you can admire a southern part of ha Long Bay from above, watching the entire Viet Hai ecological village.
Back to Viet Hai Village and have lunch
In the afternoon, you cycle along the village road, under the forest canopy, through the tunnel cave to Viet Hai wharf.
Walk, interact with local people in the village; Admire the countryside; Visit some eco-tourism models where the ancient production tools of the village are recreated. Especially, you can participate in foot massages by fish at the cool green stream.
18.30pm: Have dinner and rest in the quiet space of the eco-tourism village
DAY 3: VIET HAI VILLAGE – LAN HA BAY – HA NOI (B, L)
In the morning: After breakfast, you go to Viet Hai Wharf to start the journey to visit Lan Ha Bay.
Boat picks you up from the harbor to visit Lan Ha Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world in Cat Ba archipelago.
You can join some interesting activities such as: Kayaking; Swim in the sea; Snorkel to watch the corals, ….
After finishing the kayaking activity, you get on a boat down to Monkey Island. Here again you can swim in the clear blue water, watching the mischievous monkeys…. The guide and you climb to the top of Monkey Island, where you can observe the panoramic view of Lan Ha Bay.
Then the boat picks you up from Monkey Island, on the way back to visit Cai Beo Fishing Village which is one of the largest and oldest fishing villages in the Gulf of Tonkin.
You will have lunch here.
In the afternoon, the boat takes you to Cai Beo wharf where the car picks you up to Hanoi.
